Kaufman County, TX (July 29, 2026) – A mother and her two daughters were killed after an 18-wheeler struck their disabled vehicle on U.S. Hwy 80 near Windmill Farms Blvd in Kaufman County late Sunday night, July 26.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 11:35 p.m. on eastbound U.S. Hwy 80, between Forney and Terrell. Investigators said a 2013 Hyundai driven by 38-year-old Vanecia Deshun Williams had become disabled in the right lane when an eastbound 18-wheeler was unable to avoid the vehicle and struck it from behind.
The impact forced the Hyundai over a concrete bridge railing into the area below. Williams and her daughters, 14-year-old Sa'niah and 9-year-old A'veonia, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the commercial truck was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
